Dan R. Hodnot
Dan departed our world, all too soon, after struggling with a variety of health challenges, including Pancreatic Cancer. Dan was a devoted, loving, wise and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and colleague. His entire adult life was devoted to serving others, and his clinical skills and compassionate approach brought respect and admiration from all who knew him and worked with him. He led with integrity and by example.
Dan served our country in the United States Air Force. He began his college education at Baldwin Wallace College and finished his degree at Wright State University. He did graduate study at Lewis and Clark College. After years of dedicated practice, Dan proudly earned his Black Belt in the Martial Arts at the age of 65. He was a photographer, bear aficionado, jazz enthusiast, and ardent Trailblazer fan.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; his son, Stuart and wife Amber; his son, Bradley and wife SueEllen; six grandchildren, Lauren and husband Spencer, MacKenzie, Sydni, Logan, Hunter and Kyan; and great-granddaughter, Sloane.
Dan will be fiercely missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 3, at Bethel Congregational United Church of Christ in Beaverton, OR.
In lieu of flowers, please offer up a random act of kindness to a stranger. Dan would like that.
