William J. McLaughlin
On Monday, November 7, 2022, William J. McLaughlin, loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle and great-uncle, passed away at the age of 67. He is survived by his daughter Chelsea Mandernacht-Graham, grandchildren Katrina Stenberg and Dylan Graham, his sisters Robin Holley, Christine King, Carmen Qurban, and Andrea Zipalac, along with his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Bill was born on September 24, 1955, in Gary, Indiana to William and Marlene McLaughlin, who passed away some time ago. He graduated from Rancho Alamitos High School in Garden Grove, CA in 1974. He was a roofer by trade and lived in the San Diego community for over 40 years.
Bill was quiet and kind. He never judged a person by what they had or didn’t have. The beach was his happy place. He loved his fur babies, friends, and most importantly, his family. He lived every day as if he was the luckiest man alive and if he had something to spare (and even when he didn’t), he would share it with anyone who needed it. Bill was a firm believer in telling those he loved that he was proud of them and one of the greatest things he could have done was make sure that those he cared about knew that they were important to him.
At Bill’s request, there will be no funeral or public memorial service. Instead, we are asking friends and loved ones to donate to their favorite animal shelter since he was an avid dog rescuer.
