Andrew Stefan Rivera
Andrew Stefan Rivera, 39, passed away on August 17, 2022, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida after a long battle with complex epilepsy. He was born in Valdosta, Georgia on June 11, 1983, to Karen Johnson Bouillerce and Adalberto Rivera Zayas. He graduated from Sandalwood High School and then went on to work at several Jacksonville establishments such as Ragtime Tavern.
Andrew was an avid sports fan; he loved watching football, baseball, and basketball. He took detailed notes, could tell you who was who, and exactly his thoughts on every season and game. Andrew adored collecting memorabilia for teams, notably the 30+ collectible hats displayed on his wall. A couple of his favorite teams are the Georgia Bulldogs and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Andrew made friends very easily through the years, whether it be at his favorite sports bar, MVPs, or with anybody he met, including the Seeram family, whom he, his mother, and sister are close friends with. He enjoyed many activities with his family and friends in Jacksonville such as outdoor concerts or a night strolling the Riverwalk. He also adored caring for his pet gecko, Misty.
Andrew is survived by his mother, Karen Johnson Meadows, stepfather Michael Meadows, and sister Sydney Meadows, as well as his father, Adalberto Rivera, stepmother Joann Rivera, sister Amanda Rivera, and brother Joshua Rivera. He is preceded by his grandmother Gloria Bouillerce Johnson, grandfather Hubert V. Johnson, uncle Philip L. Johnson and Ana and Amelia Zayas.
