Carl J. Longosky
Carl J. Longosky, of Portland, OR, (formerly of Bradford, PA (1987-2021) passed away on December 22, 2022, at OHSU, in Portland. Born April 8, 1951 in Altoona, PA, Carl was the son of Bruno C Longosky and Eleanor R Longosky (née Fabbri) of Gallitzin, PA. Carl was married to Susan L Sholtis on June 23, 1978, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Erie, PA. Carl was a 1969 graduate from Penn Cambria High School in Cresson, PA and attended Grove City College, Grove City, PA. He graduated with a B.S. Degree in Psychology from Alliance College and earned a Master of Clinical Psychology from NCCU in Durham, NC. Carl became a Licensed Psychologist in PA and relocated to Bradford, PA in 1987 to begin working at Ramsbottom Center/Beacon Light Behavioral Health, where he began a rewarding career for thirty years as a Clinical Psychologist serving individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges.
Carl was a member of various organizations including the APA, as an associate member, The ARC, Polish National Alliance, a member of St, Francis of Assisi Parish, the Italian Club, and the BAHS Marching Owl Boosters in Bradford, PA, Sierra Club, AARP, and regularly donated to research organizations and charities. Carl enjoyed fishing, listening to rock n’ roll music, especially the BOSS, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, playing bocce, gardening, taking walks, reading Stephen King novels, watching tv shows on National Geographic and the Travel Channel,-traveling to the ocean whenever possible, and getting together with family and friends. He will be remembered for telling stories, enjoying a good joke with friends and family, and his laugh.
Carl is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan L Longosky, his beautiful daughters, Sarah K Cusick of Portland, OR and Katherine (Kate) A Longosky of New York, his favorite son-in-law, Sean M Cusick, of Portland, the joys in his life, his three grandchildren, Emma Mary, Caroline (Cece) Audrey, and Theodore (Teddy) Joseph Cusick, and beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces,, grandnephews,. and many cherished friends. He is greatly missed by his dog, Lucy,
A Funeral Mass and Memorial will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, April 29th at St. Demetrius Catholic Church in Gallitzin, PA, officiated by Father Albert LeDoux, and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Cresson, PA . A private luncheon to celebrate Carl’s life will be held at Taddei’s in Gallitzin, PA for family and invited guests.
