Merralee “Robyn” Beck
Merralee “Robyn” Beck was born March 20, 1948, in Gary, Indiana. Growing up in an Army Airforce family, she lived in various places: Indiana, Japan, Illinois and finally in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She became a long-time resident of Oregon when she came to attend OSU. She lived for many years in the Portland Metropolitan area where she was a 30-year employee of US Bank, most recently in the commercial loan administration. An avid reader of mysteries, she was also an animal lover, naming several of her pets after her favorite characters. She loved word games, playing cards, and cooking, all skills at which she excelled.
She is survived by her son Theodore Snyder (Leisl Stientjes) of Portland, Oregon; daughter Dr. Gretchen Snyder (Larry Rubin) of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; grandchildren Gabriella, Madison, Fiona, Islay, and Samuel; her sister Kimi Jo Beck Johnson (Richard) of El Sobrante, California; siblings Barnaby Beck (Karen) of Gig Harbor, Washington and Andrea Lynn Beck of Sacramento, California; and their daughters. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Dr. John Andrew (Andy) and Barbara Beck and her long-term partner Terrell Brixius.
